Origin and Purpose of Our Website

This web-site is a place to find current information on Continuing Education opportunities for those specifically involved in childcare, youth training, foster care, child and youth mental health and juvenile rehabilitation.  Southwest Ohio Regional Training Consortium is a compilation of agencies operating in Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky in these fields.  Many child care agencies conduct their own trainings or rely upon local universities, colleges and private training agencies to meet the Continuing Education requirements for their employees.  Often these Credit Hours are expensive and out of the reach of the salaries of many in the child care fields.  We have found that much of this training is also not geared to real life application or comes from those without significant field experience.   SWORTC has been putting together affordable field tested trainings for those in the child care arena for over 15 years.  First as a loosely held together group of social and child care workers then, as we are now, a formal committee of some of the most experienced representatives of the best agencies in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky providing first class training opportunities to those working in the child care field.

All of our trainings carry continuing education credits for social workers, nurses, teachers, mental health professionals and foster parents.  Member Agencies may send as many employees as they want to any of our trainings at a cost of $35.00 per attendee.  Individuals may also become members and receive the discounted training price.  Non-Member agencies or non-member individuals may come to any training at a cost of $45.00 per attendee so long as seats remain available for the training.

You will find our trainings posted on the Training Events & Sign Up tab at the top of this page.  If you would like to know more about the history and development of SWORTC please go to the About Us tab.  If you would like to become an individual member or and agency member please click on the Become A Member Tab or the Become A Member Bar above.  We will send you the necessary forms to sign up.  You may send the $60.00 membership fee along with the information sheet as instructed and begin immediately using the benefits of our training consortium.
If you would just like to be on our mailing list please click on the Email List tab at the top of this page.
The future of greater opportunities for child
